This is interesting…

Obama actually recognized that Lincoln wasn’t the great emancipator

“I cannot swallow whole the view of Lincoln as the Great Emancipator,” Obama said. “As a law professor and civil rights lawyer and as an African-American, I am fully aware of his limited views on race. Anyone who actually reads the Emancipation Proclamation knows it was more a military document than a clarion call for justice.”

wow. I never expected to hear that from a democrat…

And in other news, H.K. Edgerton is on the march again

Good luck to him

Worth a Read

Sorry for the lack of posting. Life has been busy. Hmmm, you know, that’s mighty egocentrical of me…

El Cid is at it again. He has written what he hopes will be a Foundation for the Freedom Movement.

Although I must disagree with one point:

We will succeed because we have right on our side. We are on the side of law; we are aligned with God and his principles. We will use the legitimate sovereignty of my homeland in South Carolina to bring the federal government to heel and force it to recognize the Constitutional limits to its power, at least as applied to us.

Considering prophecy regarding the future, and the Biblical events of the past 60-70 years, I’m not so sure that we will win. That is, of course, absolutely no reason not to fight. Just because the end is near is no reason to abandon the fight for what is right.

Always have to nitpick. Although I don’t see anything that I have a serious disagreement with there.

The government as it exists in this country has been corrupted by the power it wields, and it corrupts and destroys everything that it touches. Its power will not be relinquished easily, and I fear not without force of arms.

Why Iraq?

Despite El Cid being very well read and quite intelligent, I have to disagree with his latest post

If we really invaded Iraq to head off China and Europe becoming superpowers, that would be bar none the single most idiotic plan that I have ever heard of.

I sincerely hope that the leaders of this country are not so stupid as to believe that they can nip a Superpower China in the bud by invading Iraq. The smartest move we could make if we wanted to do that was quit free trading with them. We get absolutely no benefit from it. The purchasing power of the Dollar slides every day because of job losses to cheaper (read slave labor with no burdensome regulation) manufacturing in China.

You know what, they just really might be that stupid. I think I need to go buy bullets.
