I’m gonna have to vote no on that…

Jim Black wants the government to pay his legal bills.

I’m not the one that broke the law. If I stood accused of the crime, the state wouldn’t foot the bill for private attorneys for me. This is absolutely an outrage. The man was caught red handed with the cronies of companies that run lotteries, and he pushed a lottery through in North Carolina, even though the methods he used were questionable legally and ethically.

I think that the solutions to most of the problems in the state of North Carolina involve a wrecking ball and a bulldozer at the Capital.

ooh, a quiz…

‘The overall threat to the United States and security, I don’t think it exists,” Carter said on CNN’s The Situation Room. “I’m sure the president’s done a good job with his subordinates to make sure this is not a threat.”

Jimmy… Carter… saying… something… nice.. about… George… Bush…????

Of course, if Jimmy Carter says that there’s nothing to worry about with allowing the ports deal, it means that if it goes through, we’re all going to die.

I am not impressed…

Oh the irony if the only veto of his Presidency was to allow an Arabic company to take over management of U.S. ports…

President Bush said today he would veto any legislation coming out of Congress that would try to delay or stop the federally approved takeover of operations at six U.S. ports by a firm controlled by the government of the United Arab Emirates.

It would be the first time in his over-five-year presidency to use his veto pen.

So, a bridge to nowhere is ok, but a deeper look at a company that’s owned by an Arab nation that happens to have a good number of terrorists in it is not ok?

On the other hand, the U.S. government has allowed plenty of stupid takeovers of business over the past 10 years or so, and nobody cared then.

Well that settles it

The Guantanimo Bay prison stays open.

If the UN is for it, then it’s a bad thing.  I certainly hope that Kofi Annan doesn’t think that we’ve fogotten about that little Oil for Food scandal.  Or how corrupt the UN is.

The United States should pull out of the United Nations now.   Let us not give one more dime to this bumbling bureaucracy of idiocy.

The same UN that accepted oil for food bribes while the Hussein family was running rape rooms and running people through plastic shredders feet first now says that the US is running a torture camp?  The same UN that turned a blind eye to African atrocities?  The same UN that turns a blind eye to Arabic terrorism against Israelis while condemning the Israelis no matter what they do?

The UN is a disgrace to the world and should be disbanded.  The building should be razed, and salt should be sown over the location where it stood so that nothing would ever grow there again as a warning of the evil of these bufoons.  Don’t think that incompetence makes what they’re trying to do less evil.
